At a recent jobsite visit, a TurboDisc user had an issue and the unit had not been backwashing for quite some time. This unit was installed in the full flow line protecting a chiller evaporator so it’s operation was critical for the process. After making some component changes, we placed four clear pod covers on the unit to check the units operation. Upon start-up, it immediately went into backwash due to the excessive amount of debris that was pumped into the pods. We began videoing the operation at the point and what you see is the backwashing of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th pods that still had the initial debris loading. This shows the effectiveness of a backwash cycle on a TurboDisc filter.
